French Alabaster & Bronze Clock Under Dome

Sold
French Alabaster & Bronze Clock Under Dome by Vincenti et Cie.
One of the most beautiful and unusual clocks I've ever had the pleasure to sell, this alabaster and bronze clock was made by Vincenti et Cie. in France, and was a silver and bronze medal winner according to the marks on the back of the works. It was made in the middle part of the 19th century, and measures 22 1/2" tall x l7" wide x 9" deep. The pendulum is of a girl on a swing, and instead of swinging side to side as most pendulums do, it swings front to back so that the girl is actually swinging. The clock is all original, including the beautiful dome that it sits under. With the exception of the "V" or number 5 on its face which is missing but can be easily made and replaced, it is in perfect working condition. The chime is a very pleasant sound, not too loud.

Antique Sterling Silver English Tea Caddy
Rare English George III tea caddy, made of sterling silver by Rebecca Emes and Edward Barnard I in 1808. It has a handle with a double lid, so its divided into two parts, each of which has a lock on it. It does not have a key, but since its over 210 years old, I don't expect the key to be there. The lid of each side is engraved with what appears to be an owl with a crown on its head, and the whole tea caddy sits on four balled feet. It is hallmarked on the underside bottom of the base, the underside of the handle, and the underside of each of the lids. It measures 6" long x 5" wide and has a height of 4" without the handle raised and 7" with it raised. It weighs 680 grams. There is a very slight dent on one side, which I have pictured. A double tea caddy of this age and condition don't come up for sale very often.
